The Institute has been actively importing and introducing the latest agricultural machinery from home and abroad and has arranged several demonstrations to provide farmers with guidance on machinery purchase. Agricultural machinery introduced include machines and equipment for soil preparation, sowing, hoeing and weeding, spraying and fertilization, harvesting, drying, etc. Up to 2004, the total number of agricultural machinery in this area is approx. 12,000, including 102 traction machines in the entire county, horse power of which is up to 6.4hp. 42 combined harvesters are also available, with a horse power per hectare of 1.6hp, which have effectively improved the agricultural mechanization and production efficiency in the area.
Future goals: continue to introduce the latest agricultural machinery from home and abroad, and implement tests and study, improvement so that each machinery would be satisfying demands from local farmers, utilizing maximum efficiency of machinery, hence lessen the endeavor and time spent on crop management and improve the overall level of agricultural mechanization.
